Questions

Is 500 notes free actually usable?
It’s ten times Evernote’s 50, on three devices instead of one, with every feature included — collaboration, sharing, history, OCR search, import, and the API. Notes you’ve moved to the Trash don’t count toward the 500.
What happens when I hit a free-plan limit?
You can’t create new notes (or upload new attachments) until you delete some or upgrade. Nothing you already have is locked, hidden, or deleted. The device limit works differently: signing in on a fourth device signs out the oldest one, so you’re never locked out.
Will the price or limits change like Evernote’s did?
One plan, and any change to limits or price is announced in advance and never applied retroactively. That’s written down as a standing commitment, not a launch promise.
Can I import from Evernote?
Yes — export from Evernote as .enex and import it from Import in the account menu (your avatar, top of the sidebar). Notebooks and tags come along. Notion’s “Markdown & CSV” .zip export imports the same way.
Do AI features read my notes?
Not unless you turn them on. AI actions are off for every new account. When you enable them and run an action, the text of that one note is sent to Anthropic’s API for that action and the result comes back. Nothing is sent otherwise.
Is it end-to-end encrypted?
No. Your notes are encrypted in transit and stored on our servers so search, OCR, sharing, and optional AI can work. If you need end-to-end encryption, Notesnook and Anytype do that well.
Does it work offline?
Yes — edits are stored on the device and merge when you’re back online. Real-time collaboration means that merge happens the same way whether you were offline for a second or a day.
Can I get my notes back out?
Yes, on either plan and without asking. Any note exports as Markdown or HTML, and your whole account exports as one .zip with every note in both formats, your attachments, and a manifest of notebooks and tags. Export is never paywalled.
Is there a mobile app?
iPhone and Android apps are built and in store review now. mydeasapp.com/get always has the current way to install — it sends a phone to the right store as soon as that listing is live, and until then the web app works on a phone and installs to the home screen.
Is there a desktop app or a browser clipper?
Not yet. Mydeas runs in any browser and installs like an app. A Chrome clipper and native Mac and Windows apps are on the way.
Is there an API?
Yes, for every account. Create an API key from the account menu, then use the REST API for notes, notebooks, and tags, or register a webhook to be notified when something is shared with you or commented on. An MCP server isn’t there yet.
